Governor to give first Throne Speech
Her Excellency, the Governor, Mrs. Helen Kilpatrick, will deliver her first throne speech at the Legislative Assembly Building this morning, Monday, 7th October 2013.
The proceedings will commence at 9:40am.
After the Throne Speech will come the Policy Statement and Budget Address.
Other participants will be The Premier Hon. Alden McLaughlin and the Minister of Finance Hon. Marco Archer.
The Throne Speech is an oration given before the legislation as part of a lavish affair marking the opening of the Legislative Assembly (LA).
There will be a Parade of Uniformed Services outside the LA that will be inspected by Governor Kilpatrick.
The Throne Speech is written by the sitting cabinet and outlines the legislative programme for the new session of the LA.
