2 robberies in GT Monday (18) night – UPDATED

Robbery – Sparky Drive, George Town
George Town detectives are investigating a robbery which took place in the early hours of this morning in Sparky Drive.
About 2.45am this morning, a 26-year-old man, who was in the Queen’s Court area of West Bay Road, accepted a lift from two unknown men who were in a jeep type vehicle. The suspects, one of whom was believed to be in possession of a hand gun, drove the man to Sparky Drive where they robbed him of his cell phone and cash. They then drove off leaving him at the location, near Progressive Distributers.
No shots were fired and the man was not injured in the incident.
The suspects are described as follows:
1 – Dark skin, Caymanian accent, dreadlocks, wearing a white shirt.
2 – Dark skin, Caymanian accent, wearing a red bandana across his face.
Anyone who saw the man getting into the jeep type vehicle, or was in the area of Sparky Drive around the relevant time, is asked to contact George Town CID on 949-4222, the RCIPS tip line 949-7777 or Crime Stoppers 800-8477(TIPS).

Burglary- Walkers Road, George Town
A burglar ran off empty handed this morning after stealing an empty cash pan from the Rubis gas station on Walkers Road.
About 3am today, a male who was wearing a cream coloured hoody, threw a rock through a glass door at the Rubis gas station. He entered through the broken door and stole the cash pan before running off towards the Windsor Park area.
No weapons were used and reports of a shot being fired are unfounded.
Anyone who was in the area at the time and has any information which could assist the police is asked to call George Town police station on 949-4222, the RCIPS tip line 949-7777 or Crime Stoppers 800-8477(TIPS).

Police respond to two robberies in George Town.
The first incident was reported around 2:55am when a male was robbed having been a given a ride after leaving a bar on West Bay Rd. It is reported that a firearm was involved. No shots fired and no one injured.
The second was reported a few minutes later at a gas station on Walker’s Rd. One employee was injured from what appeared to be glass fragments.
No shots fired.
