Conyers Dill & Pearman has hired Raymond Davern, a senior practitioner in the field of trusts and private client work, to its Cayman Islands office, where he will lead the private client and trust practice for both the British Virgin Islands (BVI) and Cayman Islands offices.

Davern joined Conyers in 2010 and held the position of head of the BVI private-client practice before expanding his role.

He has an extensive knowledge of trust law after spending many years as a lecturer in law at Kings College London and in practice at the Chancery Bar.

Davern regularly works with onshore legal and accounting firms in the US, the UK, Europe, Latin America, the MENA region and south-east Asia to establish and advise on trust and related structures for ultra-high-net-worth individuals and their families in succession, estate planning and asset protection contexts.
