Placemats for Mount Olivet Boys Home dining hall

large_news890306_738982Art work from six Cayman Prep & High School students has been made into placemats  for the dining hall at Mount Olivet Boys Home in Walderston, Manchester, Jamaica.  This continues Cayman Prep’s ongoing commitment to support the work of Mount Olivet, a home for which the United Church provides oversight.

Two years ago, we helped to raise funds to build new dining tables and chairs.  Once those were complete, it was suggested that placemats would be a lovely addition, and help to make the dining experience more ‘like home’ and enjoyable for all.

We offered to assist with this, and selected six pieces of art from the upper school students which we had laminated and made into 36 durable placemats.  They have been sent to Jamaica and we hope that they’ll be enjoyed by the boys and their house parents for many years to come.

Wishing our friends at Mount Olivet a bright and blessed Christmas Season.
