CONCACAF UNDER-20 WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP Jan 9
[CONCACAF UNDER-20 WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP] The USA opened with an easy 6-0 win over Costa Rica at the Concacaf Under-20 Women’s Championship in the Cayman Islands. Paris St. Germain forward Lindsey Horan scored three goals in the first half and added a fourth goal late in the game to lead the USA.
Horan, who missed the USA’s 2012 championship campaign at the Under-20 Women’s World Cup, matched her total in five games at the 2012 Concacaf Under-20 Women’s Championship, scoring in the 13th, 24th and 45th minutes.
In the second half, Horan, Summer Green (whom she would have teamed up with at North Carolina if she had not signed with PSG) and Soccer America Freshman of the Year Savannah Jordan (Florida) each had a goal and assist.
The USA next faces Jamaica Saturday at Truman Bodden Sports Complex in George Town.
FOX Soccer Plus will show all the action. FOX Soccer 2GO, the digital platform, will offer fans a free live stream, as well as via an on-demand promotional deal.
