ALTA Member airlines passenger traffic increases 5.9% In November
MIAMI – The Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) announced that its member airlines carried 13.8 million passengers in November, up 5.9% from the previous year.
Traffic (RPK) grew 5.8% and capacity (ASK) increased 3.0%, bringing up the load factor to 79.0%, 2.1 percentage points higher than in November 2012.
The number of passengers carried year-to-date increased 6.4% versus the same period of the previous year, reaching 146.2 million passengers. During the aforementioned period, traffic (RPK) rose 7.2%, capacity (ASK) increased 5.6%, and the passenger load factor reached 77.5%, 1.1 percentage points higher than the previous year.
Freight ton kilometers increased 0.1% in November and 3.7% year-to-date.
