Cayman: Man and Woman Charged following West Bay incident

Update (23 June):
On Wednesday, 21 June, police arrested a man, age 21 of West Bay, and a woman, age 23 of George Town, in relation to the incident on Thursday, 15 June, where there was an altercation between persons at a residence off Bonneville Drive in West Bay, during which a firearm was reported to have been brandished. Police conducted a search of the residence where the man and woman were found, and recovered a quantity of ganja, along with drug paraphernalia. The man and woman were further arrested on drug offenses. No firearm was recovered.
Both persons have now been formally charged with Assault ABH, Possession of Ganja and Consumption of Ganja. The man has also been charged with Possession of a Utensil Used in the Consumption of Ganja. Both appeared in court today, 23 June, and were granted bail pending a further appearance on 13 July.
Initial Release (16 June):
Shortly after 11:10PM yesterday, 15 June, officers responded to a report of an incident at a residence off Bonneville Drive in West Bay. It was reported that three men at the residence, who are known to each other, were involved in an altercation, during which one of the men brandished a firearm at the others and struck one of them with it. The two men fled but reported hearing a single gunshot being fired. The man with the firearm then left the location in a vehicle with another person.
Both men received minor injuries during the altercation, but did not receive any gunshot wounds.
The matter is under investigation and anyone with any information, or who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the area around the time of the incident, is asked to contact West Bay CID and 949-4222.
