A pile of rubble
A pile of rubble is all that remains after suspected gas explosion in New York
By Megan Specia & Dustin Drankowski From Mashable
The day after a suspected gas explosion rocked a restaurant and residential building in New York’s East Village on Thursday, triggering a seven-alarm fire, a pile of rubble stood where three buildings once were. The explosion and subsequent fire left residents of the buildings on Second Avenue displaced. An investigation is still underway into the cause of the blast.
Twenty-two people were injured, four of whom have critical injuries, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said during a press briefing on Friday. Two men are still unaccounted for, according to reports.
