A week full of spooky thrills at Camana Bay
Halloween, Camana Bay is offering up an entire week full of Halloween-themed festivities.
It all kicks off on Saturday 24 October at 7am with the Save Our Youth Monster Dash, offering little ghosts, monsters and princesses a frightfully fun 5K run around the Town Centre. Then, from 11am-12:30pm, Starfish Village will be hosting its first pumpkin carving workshop. Kids can create pumpkin masterpieces for just CI$25 – tools and pumpkins provided.
Starfish Village is helping to give “mummies” a break with a host of activities to keep young ones entertained. Their popular Harvest Camp returns from Monday 26 October through Friday 30 October, 8am through 3pm. The camp is suitable for ages three through 12 and will be filled with autumnal and Halloween-themed arts and crafts, fun games, fountain play and much more. You can sign up for a full day (from 8am-3pm) for CI$80 or for the week with half days (8am-12pm) for CI$175 or full days for CI$325. Starfish Village will also host the ultimate night before Halloween with its Halloween Glow Party on Friday 30 October from 6-8pm with food, music and glow items for CI$25. For more details and to register for these Starfish Village activities, email [email protected] or call 345.640.7827.
Camana Bay’s popular seasonal movie series is back with eerie yet family-friendly flicks to enjoy on the giant outdoor screen in Gardenia Court from Tuesday 27 October through Friday 30 October at 7pm each day. Movie titles include: Men in Black II (2002, PG-13), Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events (2004, PG), Casper (1995, PG), The Mummy (1999, PG-13) and if that’s not enough fright, Saturday 31 October will feature the Spooky Creature Triple Feature, beginning at 6pm, with It’s The Great Pumpkin (1966, G), The Boxtrolls (2014, PG) at 6:30pm and Jaws (1975, PG) at 8pm.
The big day, All Hallows’ Eve, is Saturday, 31 October – the first time in six years that Halloween has fallen on a Saturday. Make the most of the weekend timing by spending the day at Camana Bay with the sixth annual Halloween Spooktacular. Little monsters are in for a ghoulishly good time starting at 3pm with Cayman Food Revolution’s Halloween-themed cooking class in Gardenia Court. Budding, costumed chefs will create wickedly healthy treats in a group lesson and will take home a plant, treat and recipe for just CI$20 per child. Spaces are limited; contact Bon Vivant at [email protected] or call 345.623.2665 to reserve a spot. From 4pm to 7pm, kids can trick or treat throughout the Town Centre, stopping in at participating shops and restaurants
for an assortment of Halloween treats. Along the way, they can stop and get creative with creepy crafts, guess what’s inside the Monster Lab, watch the Spooky Creature Triple Feature as part of the Moonlight & Movies series and dance the night away at the Monster Mash Bash.
