Academy Sports Club offers youth players chance to train with international coaches
As part of the Cayman Airways U14 Invitational Youth Cup, Academy Sports Club are delighted to host an “International Youth Football Camp”. Held on Sunday 26th June and located at the Camana Bay Sports Complex, participants will have the exciting opportunity to train with the international football coaches from the visiting teams from the tournament.
Aimed at youth players who want to become the best that he or she can possibly be, the camp aims to be fun but also hard work, and will show that the hard work brings rewards. The coaches will concentrate on improving techniques of the basic skills such as passing, dribbling and shooting and will emphasise the importance of proper footwork and ball control. The camp also aims to build the self-confidence of players individually and to promote the importance of teamwork.
Virgil Seymour, Head Coach, Academy Sports Club said “We are delighted to be able to offer this camp as a bonus to the Cayman Airways U14 Invitational Youth Cup. It is not often that players have the chance to train with coaches from international teams and to benefit from their vast experience, so we encourage as many boys and girls as possible to come out and take advantage of this opportunity.
“Participants in the camp will be put through their paces, that’s for sure, but it will be also be fun and provide an environment where all the players can expect to improve their skills, technique and knowledge of the game”, he added.
The camp runs from 8.30 am — 12.30 pm and is aimed at 8 — 16 year olds. The cost will be CI$ 50 each and the first 100 to register will receive a free camp T-shirt.
