Accounting Made Easier at the Chamber’s Training Centre
On June 7 and 8, ten participants benefited from the skills imparted by Chamber instructor, Terry Carson, in the course “Basic Accounting Made Easier”. Over the course of two-days, participants learned to transform accounting into easily understood concepts and developed their skills in preparing journal entries, T-accounts and financial statements. They reviewed the 10 major assumptions supporting the preparation of financial statements and actually conducted practical exercise to re-enforce the main concepts. Persons had the opportunity to participate in problem solving exercises as well as evaluate financial results.
Terry Carson, course facilitator, is a partner with Grant Thornton in the Cayman Islands and has extensive business experience gained as a Chartered Accountant. Terry was previously an Instructor for Dale Carnegie and has developed a series of his own communication and financial courses that he has offered to the public and in-house over the last 16 years. He has trained over 2,000
participants in Bermuda, Canada, the Bahamas and the Cayman Islands. He is also registered as a professional member of the Canadian Association of Professional Speakers.
