adidas Originals & Edison Chen Celebrate Lunar New Year with the CLOT LNY Collection

adidas Originals and Edison Chen celebrate their collaborative journey by unveiling the next chapter of their partnership, the CLOT LNY Superstar sneaker. Inspired by the fluidity and adaptability of a snake gliding through its habitat, the collection encourages us to embrace the journey and carve out our own path with confidence and individuality.

The campaign embodies a seamless fusion of tradition and bold modernity, celebrating the upcoming Lunar New Year with vibrant red and gold accents. Each piece is crafted to effortlessly navigate the city, symbolizing continuous motion and self-expression. The collection reflects a philosophy of forging our own path by trusting our instincts and embracing individuality.

This drop is anchored by the CLOT LNY Superstar, featuring a jacquard print with a snakeskin pattern, honoring the Year of the Snake in the Chinese calendar. The shoe incorporates a silk print for the first time in this collection and uses the same sole as the CLOT LNY Superstar. Adding a meaningful touch, the design includes a coin detail that harkens back to Shanghai Fashion Week when Edison joined the adidas family and is a symbol of prosperity and wealth in Chinese culture.

The anatomy of a snake is mirrored throughout the Lunar New Year collection, guiding wearers to fresh possibilities. The pieces include the Combot Pant and Track Top with repeating prints, along with snake arm sleeve detailing and a regular premium fit. A jacquard print featuring a snakeskin pattern nods to the Year of the Snake in the Chinese calendar, while the inclusion of a coin symbol, rooted in Shanghai Fashion Week and representing prosperity and wealth, adds a deeper cultural connection. The collection also debuts silk print for the first time, bringing a refined touch to the design. Snake print and gold accents complement the jacquard branding, further emphasizing the fusion of cultural and contemporary design. The sole used in these pieces is the same as the 2024 Superstar, completing the look with a timeless foundation.

To celebrate the launch, adidas Originals and Edison Chen hosted a cultural experience in the vibrant streets of Mexico City, showcasing how Lunar New Year is a moment that transcends boundaries and is meant to be celebrated by people from all walks of life. Special guests were invited to explore the city’s rich heritage through a dynamic blend of art, history, and cuisine, highlighting the seamless fusion of Chinese traditions with Mexico’s unique cultural tapestry. The event, including an immersive multi-space venue hosting activities guided by local artists tied to art, fashion, and music, an intimate dinner set in the iconic Chapultepec Forest, and a lively cocktail party to close the night, showcased the spirit of collaboration, celebrating creativity, diversity, and the shared stories that connect these two dynamic cultures.

The CLOT LNY Superstar sneaker is a celebration of cultural exploration and personal discovery. The apparel from the CLOT LNY Collection by Edison Chen will be on the CONFIRMED app beginning January 10th and the CLOT LNY Superstar will be available everywhere on January 16th.
