adidas Unveils Predator 25 – Inspired by its Legacy, Upgraded for the Modern Goalscore

  • The main pack of the Predator 25 arrives in a typically bold fashion – via a striking red and grey colourway that embodies the character of the boot and the players that score in them
  • Best-in-class adidas technologies have been upgraded to deal with the demands of the modern game and support goal scoring, including newly tuned versions of STRIKESKIN and HYBRIDTOUCH 2.0
  • Predator 25 is available to purchase from January 9th, 2025, at adidas.com football boots https://www.adidas.com/us/men-soccer-shoes and at select retailers

Today, adidas unveils the newest version of the iconic Predator franchise, Predator 25, blending archival colour nods and design features – with technology updates that pave the way for a new generation.

Visually, Predator 25 enhances the vibrant red often associated with the classic tongue, which decorates the entire upper in a bolder representation of the boot’s iconic DNA.

The design further leans into its past with an unmistakable nod to the Predator Accelerator (1998), with wavy black lines that weave through the brand’s three stripes, which are now found on both the medial and lateral sides of the boot. The boot’s aesthetic is finished with the new ‘Predator’ branding, which is displayed on the side of the heel and on the tongue.

Sam Handy, GM Football at adidas said: “The Predator franchise has always been based on pushing the boundaries of boot design – starting with a product that fundamentally altered the landscape of the game. Last year we revisited the archive to reconnect the tongue with a new generation of player. For Predator 25 we focus on adding more character via an adapted visual story that hints at – and reskins – beloved aspects of earlier icons. Under the hood, we have tweaked and upgraded the existing performance technologies, to create something really special for 2025.”

Predator 25 arrives with an updated upper construction – including an upgraded STRIKESKIN, re-engineered to enhance grip between boot and ball, via higher quantities of – and longer – rubber elements on the strike zone of the boot. For an improved fit and feel HYBRIDTOUCH 2.0 is again applied across the upper of the boot, but with less layers to reduce break-in time, and provide a more moulded fit, while also providing additional cushioning in key areas for comfort and a soft touch on the ball.

The boot’s fold over tongue returns with fresh elements for improved strike and protection, including an additional layer of foam for foot protection, and new rubber elements that improve touch and feel when striking the ball.

Also returning after a successful introduction last year is CONTROLFRAME 2.0 – a lightweight soleplate that supports traction, acceleration, and rapid rotational movement of players, through its full-length tooling and external heel counter.

Alessia Russo said: For me, the Predator boot is about being bold and making a statement on the pitch – from how it supports your goals to how iconic its design is. The tongue, which is hands down my favourite thing about it, is even better on this one, and the colourway is something else – I’m buzzing to play in it this year and see what I can do in front of goal”.

Predator 25 will feature in laced and laceless versions, in addition to a classic laced with a fold over tongue and will be worn on pitch by some of the game’s most iconic players – including Aitana Bonmati, Jude Bellingham, Alessia Russo, Pedri and more.

With prices starting from €60.00, Predator 25 is available to purchase today in adidas retail and selected retailers, and online at adidas.com football boots https://www.adidas.com/us/men-soccer-shoes.
