Alleged terror suspect caught on Caribbean cruise [after docking in Cayman Islands]
SINT MAARTEN/CAYMAN ISLANDS – An alleged Turkish terror suspect has been arrested in the Cayman Islands after Cayman authorities were alerted to a International Police (INTERPOL) Red Notice which says that Celal Kildag (58), is wanted for crimes in Turkey which resulted in the death of two people and the burning of two primary schools in 1988.
Kildag arrived with his wife on-board the MSC Opera on December 8. The vessel departed Italy bound for Cosumel Mexico, and stopped in 11 countries before arriving in the Cayman Islands.
Kildag has lived in Germany with his wife and two grown children, according to reports about the case. He immigrated to Germany in 1980 where he was granted political asylum.
An extradition request has been started. His wife remained on-board the ship after her husband’s arrest and flew back to Germany on December 10.
