Ambassador to the Eastern Caribbean States in Brussels Sharlene Shillingford McKlmon says the decision by the European Union to blacklist Dominica is unfortunate.

Blacklisted countries face restrictions on EU funding and EU governments can also choose to add their own sanctions against the blacklisted countries.The Government of Dominica has said that it is extremely disappointed in the new tax haven blacklist which was adopted on Tuesday by EU Finance Ministers and in particular by Dominica’s inclusion on the list.

Ambassador McKlmon in a statement, says Dominica did all it could to make the necessary changes to meet the EU requirements.
