Americans choose eclipse and chill over Netflix
BY GIANLUCA MEZZOFIORE From Mashable
The Great American Eclipse of 2017 was a one-in-a-lifetime event that brought American people together to watch the spectacle of nature unfolding in front of their (hopefully covered) eyes.
But at least one American entertainment company was eclipsed (pun intended) by the celestial event.
Netflix US revealed on Twitter their stellar viewer figures dropped by an astronomical 10% while the eclipse was happening.
“Hey, just wondering why 10% of you chose to watch a giant rock cover a giant ball of gas when I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN THERE FOR YOU,” the streaming service complained with a tongue-in-cheek tweet.
However, Netflix US then admitted defeat to Earth’s satellite:
Eclipse and chill anyone?
