A 73-year-old American tourist died earlier today after getting into difficulty whilst diving off Little Cayman.
About 12.25pm the man, who was on an organised boat dive at Bloody Bay Wall, got into difficulty whilst he was ascending and lost consciousness. He was transported to shore on the dive boat whilst the crew carried out CPR. A nurse met the boat at Salt Rock dock. She continued CPR as the man was taken to the local clinic in the dive company’s vehicle. On arrival at the clinic he was pronounced dead.
The man was on holiday in Little Cayman with his wife.
There would appear to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death. Police enquiries continue.
