Appointment of magistrate
His Excellency the Governor, Duncan Taylor, CBE, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Kirsty-Ann Gunn as Cayman’s newest permanent Magistrate. Mrs. Gunn is currently employed as a Crown Counsel (Specialist) with the Government of Bermuda, a post she has held since September 2010. She has been appointed on the advice of the Judicial and Legal Services Commission and will formally take up the post on 16 April 2012. This is the second time that the appointment of a Magistrate to the Summary Court has been made by the Governor following advice from the Judicial and Legal Services Commission, established in the new Constitution introduced in November 2009.
Prior to her current appointment in Bermuda, Mrs. Gunn served for a period of four and a half years as a Crown Counsel in the Cayman Islands.
