[27 May 2024 – Paris, France] – Following the “Rally for the mind” event on 23 May, ASICS has announced the donation of the pop-up tennis court to the City of Paris.

The one-day event open to all, in the heart of Paris at Place de la République welcomed hundreds of Parisians to the court to experience the mental uplift of playing tennis. Participants could sign up in advance, or simply show up on the day and join.

ASICS athletes also joined in the event throughout the day including Alex de Minaur, Matteo Berrettini, Harriet Dart, and others. Recent ASICS signing and number nine in the world, Ons Jabeur also joined, speaking to the crowd after playing with consumers on court.

“I’ve always loved ASICS, especially because we share the same values,” said Ons Jabeur. “You can see its philosophy everywhere around the court: ‘Sound Mind Sound Body’, and I definitely share this belief. I believe that playing sports helps to have a healthy mind, especially for the young generation. I truly wish that stepping onto this court today will bring joy and a peaceful mind to others. So, I am proud to kick off my partnership with ASICS with the donation of this tennis court to the City of Paris, to encourage more people play tennis and experience the mental uplift.” 

ASICS and the City of Paris announced a two-year partnership in November 2023, focused on providing free-of-charge events taking place across Paris integrating physical activity into the everyday lives of Parisians. The ‘Rally for the mind’ was the next step of this partnership, giving Parisians the opportunity to play tennis in the center of Paris and feel the positive mental benefits of sport.

Court donation:  

ASICS has agreed to donate the court to the city of Paris. City of Paris officials will repurpose the court and have full autonomy of where it will be installed in the city.
