CINICO has received a number of enquiries regarding its Home Health Care (HHC) benefit and recognises that there were a few misconceptions of the exact extent of this benefit.

To be eligible for this benefit a CINICO member must complete an application form and qualify and adhere to the criteria below:

“Home Health Care Plan must meet these tests:

1.         It must be a formal written plan made by the patient’s attending Physician and approved by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) which is reviewed at least every 180 days.

2.         It must state the diagnosis

3.         It must certify that the Home Health Care is in place of hospital confinement

4.         It must specify the type and extent of Home Health Care required for the treatment of the patient.”  – Summary Plan Document 2008

CINICO also wants to take this opportunity to reassure its members that benefits have not changed and continue to be available to persons who qualify and are covered under our Civil Servants and Pensioners, Seafarers and Veterans and persons covered under the Indigent Plans.

Please note this benefit is not available on the SHIC Plans – (Affordable, Challenger and Silver).
