Auditions open for annual Rundown play Sunday 19 March
Auditions open for annual Rundown play The Cayman National Cultural Foundation (CNCF) has put out a call for potential actors to audition for the annual comedy revue play, “Rundown”.
The Cultural Foundation is seeking persons who want to be part of the exciting tradition of the stage show, Rundown and especially those feel they can impersonate local politicians and/or well-known figures in Caymanian society; character actors and people who can imitate several accents; as well as strong male and female singers.
The auditions will be held at Miss Lassie’s Duplex (behind Miss Lassie’s house) at the junction of Walkers and South Sound Road, at 10.00 a.m. on Sunday, 19 March, 2016. “While the Rundown cast is almost complete, there are still six male roles left to cast. However, strong female performers will also be considered and be selected, either for a role in the show or as understudies,” said CNCF Artistic Director Henry Muttoo.
Mr. Muttoo further explained that stage experience, while desirable is not necessary and that all are welcome to read with the cast, for consideration. The 2016 instalment of the “Rundown” will be held at the Harquail Theatre from Thursday 12 May through Sunday 29 May. There will be 10 shows only. Rehearsals will be held over a six-week period, at the Harquail Studio Theatre. Interested people are encouraged to call 949-5477 or email [email protected] to schedule an audition.
