Awards event from UWI alumni association

uwi-med-sci-building-at-mona-campus-copyThe New York chapter of the University of the West Indies Alumni Association has decided that the June celebration of Caribbean American Heritage Month is a great time to launch its inaugural Pelican Awards Gala and Dance.

The event will take place June 7 in Queens at Antun’s, 96-43 Springfield Blvd., in Queens Village, from 7 p.m. to midnight, according to chapter president Gerald White-Davis.

Members of the UWI’s senior leadership will be in attendance, including UWI Chancellor George Alleyne, the guest speaker.
