Jeffrey Barnes has appeared in court accused of sexual assault.

The 32-year-old was arrested after a man hunt following an alleged attack in Prospect last Saturday.

A RCIPS spokeswoman said: “The man has now been charged with one count of sexual assault and it is anticipated that he will appear in court later today.

“The charge relates to an assault on a 17-year-old female in the George Town area on Thursday 27 October 2011.

“Enquiries into other reported incidents are ongoing.”
