The Annual Purple Ribbon Pledge has been promoting the message of road safety for over 17 years in Cayman.

Initiated by Z99 and Rooster 101, the Purple Ribbon Pledge is a public service programme and plea for residents of Cayman to be responsible, especially during the Holidays.

The Purple Ribbon Pledge is easy to take…simply repeat and commit to the words:

“I pledge to do my part in keeping the roads of Cayman safe this holiday season. I will not drink and drive and will do my best to ensure that friends and family drive safely.”

Each year in Cayman there are unnecessary victims in traffic accidents and we want to do our part to help spread a message of responsibility. It only takes one mistake, distraction, or mistiming to become either the casualty or cause of a traffic incident that could change your life.

The decision to be a responsible driver needs to be made before an accident happens and hopefully every driver will make the smart and safe choice to not drink and drive before it’s too late.
