Both parties promise a lot
With approximately 500 persons attending the People’s Progressive Party (PPM) – “The Progressives” General Assembly and around 300 persons at the United Democratic Party’s (UDP) one, it only needed HBO’s Boxing Announcer, Michael Buffer, to shout “Let’s get ready to rumble!”
The promises from both camps came thick and fast with PPM leader, Alden McLaughlin, coming from the red corner and UDP leader, McKeeva Bush coming from the blue corner with corner cut man, Walling Whittaker in attendance.
The PPM had local entertainment from Daphne Orrett & Co plus country star, Jimmy Wayne. It reminded me of a good ole redneck affair.
McLaughlin spoke about ex-premier McKeeva Bush’s tarnished record and the e international news headlines blazing his arrest and charge for theft and corruption offences.
