Brazil, Spain, Mexico – FIFA Confed Cup 2013 on Sportsmax

NeymarThe “Festival of Champions”, FIFA Confederations Cup 2013,  featuring one of the strongest line-ups ever with hosts Brazil, world champions Spain, Asian champions Japan, CONCACAF champions Mexico and South American champions Uruguay, as well as the African, European and Oceania champions will air live on SportsMax TV from June 15 – 30. The action is set to kick- off this Saturday at 2:00pm with Japan, who is on a high sitting at the top of their World Cup qualifying group to take on host nation and overall favourite to win Confederations Cup 2013, Brazil.

The Confeds Cup will feature the biggest names in football including Brazil’s 57 million-euro striker Neymar, Spain’s Xavi and Iniesta, Italy’s Balotelli and Uruguay’s Luis Suarez among others. This opening match should particularly be an interesting clash, as Japan were the first team to qualify for the 2014 World Cup, while Brazil have the advantage of home soil and are energized from their recent 3-0 win over France in Friendly action.

In 2011, SportsMax announced that they were awarded exclusive broadcast rights for FIFA World Cup through to 2022.  The broadcast rights package also includes FIFA Under-20 and Under-17 youth World Cups, and the FIFA Women’s World Cups in 2015 and 2019.
