Brewery Medals returned
Medals, which Cayman Islands Brewery won at the Monde Selection Awards in Brussels last year, were stolen when the brewery was burgled last month along with cash and other memorabilia.
The medals have no real monetary value but were of enormous value to the brewery.
Now the medals have been returned to the Brewery.
Matthew Leslie, Caybrew’s marketing manager, said that he and the team were delighted that the RCIPS had been able to recovery the medals, which they consider priceless, and he thanked the officers involved.
No one has yet been charged in the case, but the police have said they are following specific lines of enquiry.
Founded in 1961, Monde Selection’s mission is to test consumer products and grant them a bronze, silver, gold or grand gold quality award. This quality label, awarded by a totally independent professional jury, offers the consumer and the producer numerous advantages.
No less than 3000 products, coming from over 80 different countries, are tested each year in the following categories:
- Spirits & Liqueurs
- Beers, Waters & Soft Drinks
- Food Products
- Chocolates & Confectionery
- Cereal Products
- Diet & Health products
- Cosmetics & Toiletries
- • International Wine Contest, with the patronage of the OIV
Each product is tasted by all the jury members who quote individually and independently on evaluation forms.
Then, scores are added up and averaged to a final result and rewarded with a bronze, silver, gold or grand gold quality award.
