A British drug smuggler has turned soppy in a tough Caribbean prison after falling for a local woman who visits the jail
Dan Squires – who was jailed for 10 years for trying to smuggle cocaine into the Dominican Republic – regularly proclaims his undying love for a woman known only as Jenny on social media
The Scots convict even changed his Facebook profile picture to one which declares: “Love you Jenny”, the Daily Record reported .
And he has bombarded the site with numerous love quotes written in Spanish. He told his friends on the site to “never forget that the most powerful force on the planet is love”.
The 27-year-old also revealed how he refused to hunt and kill a pig for Christmas dinner because he likes the film Babe – which is about a talking porker.
Squires, who is thought to have met Jenny when she visited the prison, has also posted a picture of the pair together.
The doting jailbird posted a picture of Hollywood heart-throb George Clooney painting a woman’s toe nails, along with the caption: “When a man loves a woman he will do anything for her.”
It is not clear how often he sees Jenny, or if they are allowed to spend private time together. But the prison does allow conjugal visits.
Squires, who has posted previous pictures of himself showing off his muscled and tattooed body, revealed he spends his days in the prison gym or making jewellery.
He told a friend: “I play dominos or go to the gym or make bracelets. I didn’t get any pig, I’m not into killing pigs, I like the film Babe.”
