By Survivors for Survivors
“Most anti-slavery efforts assume that there are no survivors in the room, or the voices and agendas of survivors are not critical to the agenda of an event, publication, or exhibit.”[1] Minh Dang, Executive Director of Survivor Alliance
Survivor voices and leadership are vital for the global anti-slavery movement. A new bright spot is the recently launched Survivor Alliance, which is building a global network of survivor leaders who are engaged in anti-slavery work or are interested in becoming engaged.
If you self-identify as a survivor, please consider joining the almost 100 survivors who have already stepped forward.
Launched just 5 months ago by Minh Dang, the Survivor Alliance is supported by a board of advisors including survivor leaders such as Rebecca Bender, who you may recognize from our My Story, My Dignity campaign. In August, the Survivor Alliance launched a “Digital Town Square,” which is a secure, private, online networking space where members can connect with each other and share resources.
If you self-identify as a survivor of modern slavery, including human trafficking, or know someone who does, and would like to find out more about becoming a member of the Survivor Alliance, visit or share survivoralliance.org/membership-page.
Together for freedom,
Tate
P.S. Not a survivor, but want to show your support of their voices? Add your name to our My Story, My Dignity campaign.
