Cabinet Post Meeting Summary
Her Excellency the Governor Mrs. Jane Owen, chaired the meeting of the Cabinet held on Tuesday, 27th June 2023 in the Cabinet Conference Room, Government Administration Building.
The Hon Premier acted for the Minister for Education, District Administration and Lands, Hon Andre Ebanks acted for the Minister for Border Control and Labour and Mrs Gloria McField-Nixon acted as Deputy Governor. The Hon Minister for Tourism and Ports was absent with permission . All other Ministers and Members of Cabinet were present.
At this meeting Cabinet:
- Approved the issuance of drafting instructions for a Prohibition Order under the Customs and Border Control Act on the importation of Single-Use Plastics into the Cayman Islands;
- Approved in accordance with sections 11 (5) and 11 (6) of the Public Management and Finance Act to increase EGA 5 – Primary Services by CI$125,650, increase EI – 12 Ministry of Education by CI$27,000 and decrease NGS 91 – Public Schools Meal Programme by CI$152,650;
- Approved the permanent closure and vesting of a portion of discontinued public road depicted by Boundary Plan #642 to the adjoining Block 10E Parcel 9;
- Approved for the Hon Minister for Planning, Agriculture, Housing and Infrastructure to present the Plant Protection Bill, 2023 to Parliament;
- Approved the applications for the appointment as Notaries Public for the following persons: Joy Boucher, Paulo Cirulli, Christopher Hadome, Rainier Crouse, Gabriella Law, Michelle O’Mahony, Julisa Pars-Nelson and Delia Slater Poole; and
- Noted the Financial Report for the period 1st January – 31st May 2023. Published by the Cabinet Office on Thursday, 6th July 2023. Guidance Notes:
