MIAMI — Cable & Wireless Communications (CWC), a leader of full-service telecommunications solutions serving Latin America and the Caribbean, announced its continued long-standing partnership with Virtacore Systems to provide infrastructure and cloud-related services for CWC’s diverse business units.

Virtacore provides a wide range of cloud services to CWC under the partnership – including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), private cloud, governance, cloud consulting, transport, backup, and disaster recovery solutions. Virtacore also supplies specialized service management tools to assist CWC in centralizing its application infrastructure.

“Virtacore helps bring the latest cloud services to enterprises and service providers worldwide,” said Carlo Alloni, CTIO of Cable & Wireless Communications. “Our relationship with Virtacore represents an important milestone in the transformation of telecommunications companies to provide flexible, reliable, and scalable cloud infrastructure needed to deliver enterprise applications to our team members and subscribers.”

“As enterprise organizations evolve, analog business models are colliding with digital innovation and services,” commented George Naspo, Virtacore’s President & CEO. “Over the past several years, CWC has identified ways for their business units to transform, adapt, and innovate their operations, and delivery. The cloud project continues to be the catalyst for this transformation and we are extremely pleased with Virtacore’s important role in contributing to CWC’s IT innovation.”

Virtacore has established a rigorous governance process to review applications prior to migrating to the secure cloud infrastructure, allowing CWC to focus on delivering best-in-class application services rather than hardware and maintenance.

“Production sizing, architecture and design, software licensing, security requirements, service level agreements, release plans, resourcing, and delivery milestones are all coordinated with our dedicated IT services team,” said Douglas Pollei, Virtacore’s VP-Strategic Partnerships.

CWC is excited about its ongoing partnership with Virtacore to help further advance CWC’s cloud infrastructure as the cornerstone of the organization’s IT transformation.
