Domestic slavery U.K. minimum wage entitlement to extend to live-in nannies In a win for migrant domestic workers’ rights in the U.K., live-in nannies will no longer be exempt from minimum wage laws. Known as the “family worker exemption”, this loophole created conditions for live-in domestic workers to be subjected to exploitation, with many working 12 hour days for little more than one hour’s minimum wage.
