Aggressor Fleet is proud to announce the promotion of 1^st mate Lauren Hill to 2^nd Captain, with the additional responsibilities of Relief Captain for the Cayman Aggressor IV. Lauren recently completed her training to become licensed as a 200 Ton Yacht Master, which qualifies her for these additional duties.

Born and raised in New Zealand, Lauren is the resident Kiwi aboard the Cayman Aggressor IV. In true Kiwi style, she has a love of adrenalin sports and mother nature so it’s not surprising that she found her way into the diving world. Lauren learned to dive in New Zealand in 1997, where she spent many weekends looking for crayfish and free diving for Paua (a New Zealand delicacy similar to Abalone).

After travelling and working for Disney Cruise Lines for two years, she finally made the jump to scuba diving instructor where she taught classes on weekends for her local dive shop back in New Zealand. Lauren worked her way up to being a PADI IDC Staff Instructor and ended up managing New Zealand Sea Adventures, a 5 Star Dive Centre in Wellington for a couple of years. Keen for a change, she relocated to the Cayman Islands almost five years ago. Employed by Sunset House for Sunset Divers Lauren fell in love with the waters of Cayman and while working there she completed her Royal Yachting Association Day Skippers license and developed a desire to learn more about the maritime world.

She jumped aboard the Cayman Aggressor IV back in 2009, as a dive instructor and deck hand. Over the last few years she has improved her skills and passion to become an impressive underwater photographer and videographer. Lauren is also keen on the engineering side of boat life, often found down in the engine room, doing whatever needs to be done and constantly learning while working on compressors, generators, AC units, water makers – she loves it.

Working aboard the CAIV for the past three years under the watching eye of several captains and accumulating sea time and miles, she felt it was time to step up to the plate. She worked and studied hard; as a result Lauren has recently obtained her 200Ton Yacht Masters License. She is excited to be the CAIV 2nd/Relief Captain and is looking forward to moving up to Captain somewhere within Aggressor Fleet for many more fun filled years.
