Caribbean acts perform at BET Experience
The Caribbean presence was felt all over Los Angeles at last weekend’s BET Experience.
Soca stars Bunji Garlin and Fay Ann Lyons as well as dancehall stars Konshens and Shenseea were among those who performed last Friday at BET X.
BET X is a part of the weekend long activities leading up to the award show on Sunday.
It was hosted by Jamaican-born rapper Safaree and reality show star Amara La Negra.

Meanwhile, Black Panther picked up the best movie award, with director Ryan Coogler urging the audience to visit Africa, saying it is a life changing journey.
Kendrick Lamar won the best male hip hop artist award while Cardi B won the female equivalent.
Video of the year went to Drake for God’s Plan.
Other winners included DJ Khaled, Bruno Mars, Migos and SZA for Best new artiste.
Jamie Foxx hosted the annual ceremony for a second time.
The BET awards celebrate black and other American minorities in music, film and sports.
