Bridgetown, BARBADOS, October 28, 2015. In over 20,000 sqm of exhibition space with 500 exhibitors and an expected 120, 000 visitors over 5 days in the heart of Paris, Haitian and Dominican cacao and chocolate producers are making their presence felt at the world renowned industry event Salon Mondial du Chocolat.

Between October 28 and November 1, 2015, the delegation from Haiti and the Dominican Republic will present their products and services to the international attending audience facilitated by the Caribbean Export Development Agency (Caribbean Export). The companies include Khao Caribe, chocolate makers from the Dominican Republic; Askanya Chocolates bean-to-bar chocolates from Haiti, the Federation of Cacao Producers of the North of Haiti (FECCANO), and the joint participation of the Association of Cacao Producers of the North (APROCANO) and the cacao fermenters and exporters Produits des Iles S.A. (PISA) also from Haiti. Dominican cacao and chocolate producers are also represented by the Cluster of Cacao of the Dominican Republic, and the Haitian Chamber of Commerce is also accompanying the delegation to provide business promotion support.

Attracting industry professionals including, chocolatiers, pastry makers, confectioners together with pastry chefs and cocoa experts from across the world, the delegation not only get the opportunity to penetrate new markets with their fine flavour cocao but also build capacity through the numerous workshops and conferences that are contained within the event programme.

Caribbean Export organized this mission within the framework of the Haiti/Dominican Republic Binational Programme, funded by the European Union under the 10th European Development Fund (EDF).
