CARIBBEAN GARDENS AND MARKET LAKE CARIBBEAN, SCORSEBY, AUSTRALIA
A meeting spot, shopping precinct and playground for many generations, the much loved Caribbean Gardens and Market in Scoresby is celebrating its big five-0. Of course, for such a milestone, it’s only fitting that the celebrations are also big.
The flagship event will be held on February 13 and will include an incredible water film and fireworks as well as one of a series of twilight markets. As part of the celebrations, Lake Caribbean will transform into a stunning holographic water display thanks to new technology and more than a metric ton of water will launch into the air and be projected on to the lake as it makes its descent.
The celebratory twilight markets will be held on Saturday, February 6, 13, 20, 27 and March 5 from 4-10pm and there’s plenty on.
Market
The community market offers a large variety of local crafts, home treasures, goods and wares at reasonable prices with plenty of bargains. Join the throng of people and browse the many stalls. You may find a unique gift for someone special, or yourself, all the while supporting home-grown talent.
Food and drink
It wouldn’t be a proper market without Melbourne’s favourite trend – food trucks. Plus there are the regular market stalls with fresh produce. So, when your tummy gets a little bit rumbly, there’s a range of options. Alternatively, if you prefer to just sit back and relax, check out the Yenda Craft Beer Garden.
Entertainment
With a car show, street performers including stilt walkers and jugglers, music and a DJ, chairlift and train rides, a ski show, children’s entertainment and after-dark fire twirlers, there truly is something for everyone.
