October 5, 2021: Caribbean Magazine Plus cordially invites you to the Award Ceremony for its 2021 Poetry Contest sponsored by Arawak Media, this coming Saturday October 9, 2021 at 1:00pm EST. 

The top three finishers will be interviewed by the lead evaluator, noted author, Kwame McPherson. The event will be streamed on Caribbean Magazine Plus’s Facebook page. 

The selection of winners for the inaugural Poetry Contest was difficult from the many entries, but it was able to be narrowed down to the top three. 

The top three finishers are:

1st place, Candice Dianne Skerrette, from Trinidad and Tobago- “Let Girls be Girls”

2nd place, Zenna Lewis, from St Vincent and the Grenadines- “Madam Anxiety”

3rd place, Ysanna John, from The British Virgin Islands- “From Corona’s Diary”

Honourable mentions:

Cynclair Musgrove, from the Turks and Caicos Islands for her entry, Special needs people; Christianna Sahadeo, from Trinidad and Tobago for her entry, Thrive; and Vera Patterson from Canada for her entry, Mama’s Children.
