Caring for Life Foundation Donates Flowtron Machines
The Caring for Life Foundation (CFLF) donated two Flowtron units to the Surgical Ward at the Cayman Islands Health Services Authority (HSA). The handover took place on Tuesday, October 23rd, 2012.
Sarah Hobbs, Deputy Chairperson of CFLF, was present for the handover along with 5 representatives from Scotia Bank, including Human Resource Manager, Lovenia Ebanks.
“Scotia Bank, among other corporate donors, plays an integral role in supporting the CFLF. Currently, 20 employees from Scotia Bank donate a small percentage of their paycheck every month to contribute to the foundation. We are extremely appreciative, and encourage others to give back to the community” stated Sarah Hobbs.
Present of behalf of the HSA was Lizzette Yearwood, HSA Chief Executive Officer, and Dr. Delroy Jefferson, HSA Medical Director.
“We are sincerely thankful to the Caring for Life Foundation for their generous contribution and continuous support” stated Ms. Lizzette Yearwood.
“The Flowtron machine is a very critical machine to have, particularly for the surgical unit where patients are restricted to bed rest for extended periods of time. The machine works by inflating and deflating to increase blood circulation, especially important in the lower leg” stated Dr. Jefferson.
