Fatal Collision – West Bay Road

At approximately 2:14am this morning, Saturday 21st November 2015; Emergency Services was dispatched to a one car motor vehicle collision on West Bay Road in the vicinity of Galleria Plaza, West Bay Road.
Reports were that there was a single male occupant trapped inside the vehicle who appear unconscious and was not breathing. Medical assistance was rendered to the individual and he was later transported to George Town Hospital where he was pronounced deceased by the doctor on duty.
The victim is identified as 21 year old Lanado Martin Waugh of a George Town Address. At the time he was travelling in a silver coloured Honda Accord on the West Bay Road travelling towards George Town.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or observed the vehicle prior to the collision to contact the investigating officer; PC Orville Harris at the George Town Police Station at 9494222.

[For a time the roadway was partially blocked and persons were asked to take alternate route until the roadway was reopened later this morning.

Attempted Robbery
On Friday 20th November 2015 at 10:09pm, police was dispatched to an attempt robbery off Martin Drive George Town. Reports are that a male was attacked by three males who attempted to rob him of his cell phone; he resisted and was assaulted by the individuals who punched and kicked him in the face. He was later transported to the George Town Hospital where he received treatment for his injuries.
Stabbing
On Saturday 21st November 2015 at 4:24am, police was alerted by the George Town Hospital of a 18 year old male victim receiving treatment for stab wounds. It was later discovered that the individual was assaulted in the parking lot of the Nectar Bar on West Bay road by another male with an icepick. He received stab wounds to his chest area and was treated for his injuries.
