Primary School Football returns following Mid-Term Break
Following a two-week mid-term break, play in the 2022 CUC Primary Football League (PFL) and Girls’ Primary Football League (GPFL) resumed this past Saturday, October 29 with a number of exciting games.
In Group A, Cayman International School (CIS) hosted the Cayman Prep Under 9 and Under 11 boys at the Camana Bay Sports Complex. In the Under 9 encounter, Cayman Prep took the lead in the 14th minute as Juveri Fisher outraced the CIS goal keeper to a loose ball before slotting the ball home. CIS drew level in the 19th minute through Jesse Duiker-Daignault and in the 20th minute, young Miles Pierre put his team in front with a well taken effort to secure a 2-1 win for CIS.
In the Under 11 game, CIS defeated Cayman Prep 4-0 (respect rule) thanks to a double from Teddy West and one each from Toby Bell and Lucas Kerr.
In other scores from Group A, it was Prospect Primary 0 vs. Cayman Prep 9A 4 (Under 9; respect rule), Joanna Clarke Primary 3 vs. Truth For Youth 0 (Under 9) and Joanna Clarke Primary 3 vs. Truth For Youth 0 (Under 11).
In a game played on Monday, October 24, it was George Town 5 vs. Truth For Youth 1 (Under 9).
In Group B, it was Cayman Prep 11A 4 vs. Triple C 0 (Under 11; respect rule), Prospect Primary 3 vs. NorthEast Schools 2 (Under 11) and Red Bay Primary 1 vs. Cayman Brac 1 (Under 11).
In the CUC GPFL Under 11 league, CIS hosted Triple C at the Camana Bay Sports Complex. A double from Sadie Nelson and a goal each from Ava Pierre and Sophia Santiago sealed a 4-0 (respect rule) victory for CIS over the Lady Crusaders.
In other games played in the CUC GPFL, it was Sir John A. Cumber 4 vs. Joanna Clarke Primary 0 (respect rule) and St. Ignatius Catholic 3 vs. George Town Primary 0.
