The Sister Islands Affordable Housing Development Corporation (SIAHDC), a government company operating under the Ministry of District Administration and Lands, is pleased to announce the next phase of the Affordable Housing Programme. This expansion will introduce new housing developments, namely The Highlands and The Woodlands, located on The Bluff, Cayman Brac.
Honourable Julianna O’Connor-Connolly, Premier and Minister for District Administration and Lands, emphasized the government’s dedication to addressing the issue of property ownership for Caymanians in the Sister Islands. She stated, “The expansion of the Affordable Housing Programme on The Bluff demonstrates our ongoing commitment to providing affordable housing options that empower our citizens. The rising cost of real estate over the past two years has widened the gap between Caymanians and their ability to acquire affordable land and homes. In response to this challenge, the Cayman Islands Government remains steadfast in its commitment to providing opportunities for Caymanians to attain adequate and affordable housing.“
The collaborative efforts between the Ministry of District Administration and Lands and the Sister Islands Affordable Housing Development (SIAHD) Board aim to bridge this divide by identifying, acquiring, and developing former Crown land into affordable housing developments
The upcoming phase of the Sister Islands Affordable Housing Programme will feature housing developments at three locations on The Bluff: Sunshine, West End, and Spot Bay. Prospective homeowners are encouraged to initiate the application process to secure their place in these developments.
