Cayman Airways and HCP Media unveil special issue of Cayman Airways Skies featuring original Guy Harvey artwork
Cayman Islands, September 4, 2018 – As Cayman Airways Limited continues to celebrate its momentous 50-year anniversary, noted artist and conservationist Dr. Guy Harvey has created original artwork for the airline’s magazine Cayman Airways Skies. The art adorning the cover of the newly released September/October issue features Dr. Harvey’s signature style complete with various marine life endemic to the islands, including stingrays and a sea turtle.
“The Cayman Islands have been a second home to me for so many years now,” says Dr. Harvey. “I consider it an honour to commemorate the National Flag Carrier and the country with my craft. It is my sincere hope that this edition of Skies serves to further highlight the important work the Cayman Islands, the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation and many other programmes are doing in regards to marine conservation and scientific research.”
As a resident of Cayman, Dr. Harvey holds a deep commitment to seeing the ecology of the islands thrive. Within the magazine, he shares insight on upcoming collaborations and expeditions, his hope for the next generation of environmental visionaries, and this issue of Skies’ exquisite cover artwork.
“We’re thrilled to have Dr. Harvey’s beautiful work on the cover of this issue, especially during CAL’s Golden Year,” relates Olivia Scott Ramirez, Marketing & Public Relations Manager of Cayman Airways Limited (CAL). “Passengers seeking the ultimate Cayman experience should look no further than their seat pocket for all things Cayman Islands and CAL.”
To commemorate this special issue, Dr. Harvey will host an exclusive cocktail hour and dinner at the Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa on Thursday, September 13. Named one of the “Best New Hotels in the World” by Travel + Leisure, the trendy resort features design-driven wonder while embracing Cayman’s natural beauty at every turn. Members of the press are invited to attend the cocktail hour and meet with Dr. Harvey, Cayman Airways CEO Fabian Whorms and other noted attendees as they celebrate the release of the issue.
“We are excited for this shining collaboration between HCP Media, Dr. Harvey and Cayman Airways. We’ve developed the kind of world-class magazine that captures the Caymankindness that is so synonymous with the airline,” explains Marisa Beazel, President and Publisher of HCP Media. “HCP Media strives to promote CAL and the Islands with Cayman Airways Skies and via strategic social media content and top-tier marketing and events.”

About Guy Harvey
Guy Harvey is a unique blend of artist, scientist, diver, angler, conservationist and explorer, fiercely devoted to his family and his love of the sea. Growing up in Jamaica, Guy spent many hours fishing and diving with his father along the Island’s south coast. He was obsessed with the creatures of the sea and began drawing pictures of the many different fish he observed. A 10th generation Jamaican of English heritage, Guy’s natural gift to recreate marine life has propelled him from Professor of Marine Biology to a Wildlife Artist and Photographer. Today his work is well known around the world and he has earned a reputation as the John Audubon of marine art.
His great love of the sea is combined with a scientist’s understanding of the serious threats facing the world’s fish resources and biodiversity. In 1998, Guy established the Guy Harvey Research Institute in partnership with Nova Southeastern University’s world-renown Oceanographic Center. The institute’s mission is to provide scientific information necessary for effective conservation and restoration of fish resources and biodiversity. Another key organization founded by Harvey is the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation, an organization of philanthropists, conservationists, scientists, and educators focused on developing sensible strategies for promoting the conservation of our oceans and nurturing the next generation of marine scientists and guardians of our seas. Guy currently maintains his art studio in Grand Cayman, where he lives with wife Gillian and their two children, Jessica and Alex. Whenever possible, Guy takes his family on his globe-circling fishing and field research trip.
