The Department of Environmental Health (DEH) is advising the public that the Cayman Brac Landfill is currently closed to facilitate the placement of covering material over the affected areas by DEH personnel following the fire that started on Tuesday, March 4, 2025.

Residents downwind of the landfill are being advised to keep their doors and windows closed and to limit outside activities in areas where smoke is persisting.
