Cayman: Cabinet Post Meeting Summary 04 June 2024

A meeting of the Cabinet was convened on Tuesday, 4th June 2024 in the Cabinet Conference Room,
Government Administration Building.
Ms. Reshma Sharma acted for the Hon Attorney General, all other Ministers and Members of Cabinet were present.
At this meeting Cabinet:

Confirmed approval granted by circulation on 29th May 2024 for the addition of secure
accommodation per regulation 3 of the Children (Secure Accommodation) Regulations, 2012;

  • Approved the construction of a restroom at Spotts Public beach;
  • Reviewed and noted the Auditor’s Oversight Authority’s Annual Report and Audited Financial
    Statement for the year ended 31st December 2023 and authorised its presentation to Parliament;
  • Approved for the National Roads Authority to open a public road and publication of the
    declarations under sections 3 and 5 in accordance with Boundary Plan 645 and Prescribed
    Composite Map 343;
  • Reviewed and noted the Ministry of Sustainability and Climate Resiliency’s Annual Report and
    Audited Financial Statement for the year ended 31st December 2023 and authorised its presentation
    to Parliament;
  • Reviewed and noted the National Conservation Council’s Annual Report for the year ended 31st
    December 2022 and authorised its presentation to Parliament;
  • Reviewed and noted the National Conservation Council’s Annual Report for the year ended 31st
    December, 2023 and authorised its presentation to Parliament;
  • Reviewed and noted the National Trust for the Cayman Islands’ Annual Report and Audited
    Financial Statement for the year ended 30th June, 2023 and authorised its presentation to
    Parliament;
  • Approved the appointment of the following persons as Notaries Public: Samantha Conolly, Tahlia
    Gibson, Sheneka Moore, Jennifer Philpott and Danyell Stewart;
  • Approved the Customs and Border Control (Visas, Entry and Landing) (Amendment) Regulations,
    2024; and
  • Refused a request for exemption under section 53(1)(b) of the Immigration (Transition) Act (2022 Revision).
