Cabinet Post Meeting Summary

His Excellency the Governor Mr. Martyn Roper, OBE, chaired the meeting of the Cabinet held on Wednesday, 15th March, 2023 in the Cabinet Conference Room, Government Administration Building.

Mr Dwayne Seymour acted as Temporary Minister for Planning, Agriculture, Housing and Infrastructure and the Hon Minister for Tourism and Transport sent his apologies. All other Ministers and Members of Cabinet were present.

At this meeting Cabinet:

• Approved the issuance of a coastal works permit for construction of a breakwater offshore Block 10A, Parcel 143, Ironshore Drive, Vista Del Mar, Grand Cayman;
• Approved the re-appointment of the following persons to the Board of Directors of the Cayman Islands National Insurance Company: George McCarthy, Chair and Ormond Williams, Deputy Chair;
• Noted the Cayman Islands Utility Regulation and Competition Office’s 2021 Annual Report and authorised the Hon Minister for Border Control and Labour to table the Annual Report at the next sitting of Parliament;
• Approved the revision of the Dress Code Policy for Government Schools;
• Approved the appointment of Curtis Mason as a Member of the Council for Professions Allied with Medicine;
• Approved the re-appointment of Ormond Williams as Member of the Human Tissue Transplant Council;
• Approved the re-appointment and appointment of the following persons to the Health Insurance Commission: Darlene Glidden, Deputy Chair and Mark Connolly, Member;
• Approved the Cayman Islands Food and Nutrition Security Policy and its implementation;
• Approved the Supplementary Appropriation (January 2022 to December 2022) Bill, 2023 and the 2022 Supplementary Plan and Estimates for presentation to Parliament;
• Noted the Cayman Islands Annual Tourism Statistics 2022; and
• Noted the Financial Report for the period 1 January 2023 – 28 February 2023. Published by the Cabinet Office on Wednesday, 22nd March, 2023.
