Cabinet Post Meeting Summary
Her Excellency the Governor Mrs. Jane Owen, chaired the meeting of the Cabinet held on Tuesday, 25th April 2023, in the Cabinet Conference Room, Government Administration Building.
All Ministers and Members of Cabinet were present. At this meeting Cabinet:
- Approved for the following companies to make application to the Grand Court for restoration to the Cayman Islands Register of Companies: AMTD Asian Limited; Asian Health Century Ltd.; Excelsior Union Limited; IMCOPA International Cayman Ltd.; Lempira Ltd.; M E I Investments Ltd.; McElroy Yachting Enterprises Ltd.; Supreme Union Limited and York Holdings Limited;
- Approved for rezoning proposal RZ15-0001 to be submitted to Parliament for consideration;
- Approved the applications for the following persons as Notaries Public: Peter De Vere; Henry Ebanks; Stefanie Ebanks; Tasha Lemay; Satina Whittaker; Richard Wildman; Apolina Winton;
- Approved:
o The creation of a new Executive Asset appropriation EA 165 – George Town Landfill (GTLF) Remediation Works;
o in accordance with sections 11(5) and 11 (6) of the Public Management and Finance Act (2020 Revision) the following:
- for the 2022 fiscal year decrease EI 84 – Equity Investment to Ministry of Sustainability by $21,657,088;
- for the 2022 fiscal year increase EA 165 – George Town Landfill (GTLF) Remediation Works by $21,657,088;
- for the 2023 fiscal year decrease EI 84 – Equity Investment to Ministry of Sustainability by $2,272,847;
- for the 2023 fiscal year increase EA 165 – George Town Landfill (GTLF) Remediation Works by $2,272,847;
o the carry forward of the unused portion of EA 165 – George Town Land Fill (GTLF) Remediation Works in fiscal year 2022 to 2023;
- Approved the publication of the consultation draft of the Climate Change Policy 2023 – 2040 and to initiate a sixty (60) day public consultation process;
- Approved in accordance with sections 11(5) and 11(6) of the Public Management and Finance Act (2020 Revision) to decrease appropriation funding for TP 67 – Sports and Cultural Tourism Programmes Assistance by $300,000 and increase EA 164 – Central Scranton Park by $300,000;
- Approved in accordance with sections 11(5) and 11(6) of the Public Management and Finance Act (2020 Revision) to increase TP 41 – Financial Assistance by $5,250,000;
- Cabinet Post Meeting Summary
- Approved the 2024 – 2026 Strategic Policy Statement for onward submission to Parliament;
- Approved the Customs and Border Control (Prohibited Goods) (Amendment) Order, 2023;
- Approved the temporary issue of a Cabinet Permit to allow a visitor to enter the Islands on a temporary basis.
