Cayman Chamber of Commerce Calls for Volunteers and Sponsors for Annual Earth Day Cleanup

Grand Cayman, January 29, 2025 – The Cayman Islands Chamber of
Commerce proudly announces the 2025 Earth Day Cleanup on Saturday,
April 26th. This highly anticipated event aligns with the Chamber’s
Enhancing the Quality-of-Life pillar, a key focus of its three-year advocacy
agenda. As the Chamber celebrates its 60th anniversary, it continues its
unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability, having organized
this cleanup since 1997.

The Chamber of Commerce Earth Day Cleanup, the largest volunteer-
driven cleanup initiative in the Cayman Islands, is a testament to the
community’s dedication to environmental stewardship. Over 3,000
volunteers annually remove litter from beaches, parks, and roadsides,
helping maintain the islands’ natural beauty for both residents and visitors.

Join the Movement: How to Get Involved
The Chamber seeks volunteers, community leaders, and businesses to
sponsor and participate in this impactful event. There are two primary ways
to contribute:

  • Register a Team: Businesses, schools, community groups, and
individuals can sign up to lead cleanup efforts at locations across the
islands. To register, visit our website, fill out the form, and choose
your preferred cleanup site. Registration is free. Sign up here: [Insert

  • Become a Sponsor: Businesses are encouraged to support the event
by providing essential materials such as trash bags, gloves, T-shirts,
and refreshments. This year’s theme, “Our Power, Our Planet,”
highlights the environmental threats posed by plastic pollution,
particularly to marine wildlife. Sponsors can showcase their
commitment to sustainability while gaining visibility within the
community. Sponsorship allows businesses to enhance their
corporate social responsibility profile and connect with a large
    audience.

  • Why Participate?
“Keeping our islands clean and green is everyone’s responsibility,” said
Chamber CEO Wil Pineau. “We encourage all residents, schools and
volunteer community groups to participate in this initiative, dedicating just a
few hours to make a real difference in their communities.”
The Chamber also seeks volunteers to help pack Earth Day kits, including
gloves, T-shirts, and trash bags. These kits are essential for our volunteers
to ensure their safety and comfort during the cleanup. Those interested can
visit the Chamber offices at Governor’s Square in the weeks before Earth
    Day.

The Chamber invites people of all ages to participate in this rewarding
event and take an active role in preserving the beauty of the Cayman
