CIFA officials and staff on the scene responded to provide support and have confirmed that all players and staff from the teams are safe.

At this time, we remain hopeful that any persons harmed by the incident will recover and we will continue to pray for everyone who has been impacted by this tragic incident. We extend our deepest sympathies, recognizing that such incidents deeply affect not only the players and staff involved, but also the broader football family. The sense of community that defines our sport is now tinged with sorrow, and we stand united in offering support, strength, and solidarity to those affected.

As we navigate these challenging moments, CIFA emphasizes our commitment to the safety and well-being of every member of our football community, and we condemn any form of violence. The CIFA has preventively suspended all football activities until Tuesday, 5 March 2024, this includes all football matches and National Teams’ training sessions as well as any other football public event. The CIFA also requires that all member clubs’ public activities and training sessions to be suspended until this date.
