CMO Statement on Rapid Testing Pilot for COVID-19

The pilot roll-out of lateral flow testing which is being hosted at John Gray High School is complete.

I am pleased to report that both the children and the parents were enthusiastic about the process and have described how easy doing lateral flow testing is.

In all 220 people, who came from 62 different families, attended the centre. There were two positives as a result of the screening exercise, which were one adult and one child.

Thank you very much to all of the staff who helped set this up at this centre, to John Gray High School for having allowed us the premises, and to all the families and the children who made this day a success.
