Friday, 28 July 2023 – Petty Officer Dwight Hunter of the Cayman Islands Coast Guard has been commended for successfully completing his Warrant Officer Qualification course earlier this month in Kingston at the Caribbean Military Academy, the academic institutional arm of the Jamaica Defence Force.

During the programme, which incorporated practical training and leaderships skills, Petty Officer Hunter participated in a number of physical and mental challenges covering a range of subjects. He was exposed to several areas including military and civil law, social etiquette, military protocol, information technology, public speaking and elocution, and counselling.

“I am extremely grateful for the support and guidance received from my colleagues and mentors,” said Petty Officer Hunter as he reflected on his success and encouragement received from the Cayman Islands Coast Guard. He continued, “It was a challenging and rigorous journey, but the knowledge and skills I gained will undoubtedly enhance my ability to serve”.
